H A P P Y E A S T E R ! ! ! ! !
I haven't had a single egg today!! My lips have been zipped ALL DAY!!!
Almost started hyperventilating around noon when I saw a MASSIVE basket of eggs being carried by a girl up the street, but I managed to find my center and calm down
MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENT !!
( Except then I legged it over to the parental's as I knew their neighbours were celebrating Greek easter and therefore would be popping over with a plateful of the most AMAZING almond shortbread dusted in icing sugar known to man I ain't silly!!)
PLUS I took myself off for an hour long walk today ! Today of all days!! Clearly everyone else was abiding the easter laws and were at home stuffing themselves because I didn't see a single sole or car on the roads. Ghost town
Anywho, I wish you all a FAB and safe easter holiday !!! Somebody please take it upon themselves to have an egg for me!!!

Feeling the love for massive crochet blankets today! Wishing I could remember where I packed away my first attempt at one! Come to think of it..I think the dog ripped it to shreds.... Hmmmm... I need to think about making a new one !
A bed just isn't as cosy as it COULD be without one to snuggle under
In other news - There is something SERIOUSLY EXCITING brewing in the news department referring to my crochet!!!! But I have to be "shhhhhhhh" about it for the time being, but suffice it to say, it's MASSIVE NEWS + MASSIVELY EXCITING!!! !!!!

Allow me to freak your brain out a little...

It is Pre-Chicken Nugget Meat Paste AKA Mechanically Separated Poultry or Mechanically Separated Chicken.

The photo above has been extensively passed around recently, and for good reason: it's a peek into the rarely-seen world of mechanically separated meat, or Advanced Meat Recovery (AMR).

Fooducate writes,
Some American figured out in the 1960s that meat processors can eek out a few more percent of profit from chickens, turkeys, pigs, and cows by scraping the bones 100% clean of meat. This is done by machines, not humans, by passing bones leftover after the initial cutting through a high pressure sieve. The paste you see in the picture above is the result. There's more: because it's crawling with bacteria, it will be washed with ammonia. Then, because it tastes gross, it will be reflavoured artificially. Then, because it is weirdly pink, it will be dyed with artificial colour. But, hey, at least it tastes good, right? High five!

The resulting paste goes on to become the main ingredient in many of Australia's favourite mass-produced and processed meat-like foods and snacks: bologna, hot dogs, salami, pepperoni, meat jerky, and of course the ever-polarizing chicken nugget, where the paste from the photo above was likely destined.

That late night/early morning feed at McDonalds does not look so good now does it!

Man I have had so many cups of tea today, i'd seriously be nudging my quota for the year! Total tea binge! I usually indulge in 1 every couple of days but man I can't get enough of the stuff today
Now it MAY have something to do with the fact that the lovely barista man kept bringing me easter eggs after I thanked him for being extra considerate as he'd brought me one wrapped in my fave colour the first time. Then he just kept them and the pots of tea coming!! Smart lad!!!
So yeah I was a little naughty today and had my first real little binge of chocolate...tut tut... BUT I am pretty much at my goal weight!! (Only 200gms away...well probably about a kilo after the eggs..) PLUS it's easter, PLUS the barista dude was cute as hell

I think I managed to score the remaining shade of yellow needed to have a fifth attempt at young Mr. Dolenz for my Monkees blanket

Inspiration has struck again!!!!!
I had the tunes pumping this morning whist I was in the shower. As i've mentioned before, the fact that water and electricity don't make a good combo has always been lost on me - hence I continue to use my potable Ipod stereo in the bathroom.. because i'm clearly a thickhead ...

Weird-arse dancing aside, the tune has inspired me and set the ideas spinning for a piece mirroring the lyrics and i'm super fun-sized happy about it !!!!!!
I will of course finish my w-i-p first!! But AGHH!!! LOVE the rush of excitedness that comes with a fun idea lightbulb moment !!

The fabulous Simone put forth the suggestion/question about the colours being used on Raddy - asking if I had opted for more taupe-like colours rather than brown ones. She is absolutely right so I took this little video to try and convey the colours a little better for folks interested in the effect it's giving.
Hopefully it shows the colour palette off a little better!
MAJOR apologies for my sniffling. I've managed to bag my first flu of the year. Yay
So Dan in his taupe-tastic glory should be back later this afternoon after hitting 40%!! Since my head feels like it's stuffed with cotton wool and I can't really go for longer than 5 seconds without a sneezing fit...I think I have a quiet day ahead of me.
Better watch myself with the crochet hook....god knows where it'll end up if I get another fit with ten sneezes in a row !
And this has absolutely nothing to do with anything, but if you type taupe into google images...these lovely twinkly pears come up Aren't they cute! I reackon marketing teams need to pay attention. Kiddies would eat their pears if they were sparkly!!!

I have FINALLY blown apart my weight loss plataue and have reached a grand total loss now of 9.5 KILOS!!!!! Which means, drumroll.........

Then i'll spoil it a little by having a TEENY TINY ferrero rocher
I know I know!! I really shouldn't and 1 may lead to 2, 3, 4, but I swear it's either have 1 ferrero or splurge on the biggest most colossal easter egg that Woolworths sells.... Why the hell did I have to hit my goal weight at easter...seriously ill timed there Lee

Awesome to catch up with my Cuz , awesome to spend some dollar on some cute cute (uneccesary but lovely) shtuff!

I am about to embark on something I haven't done in a while.....
Sigh....
Starting...well right now actually...i'm going to go.... WITHOUT CROCHETING FOR 4 WHOLE DAYS!!!!
But it's for a FABULOUS reason!!!
I'm only going for a 4 day weekend in Sydneytown with my cuz to see 2 of my fave bands of the moment !!



AND

The alarm is set for...5.30AM for me to get my arse into gear to catch the bus for the 3 and a half hour arse numbing ride to the center of Sydney
I'll be human again once I taste my first cappucino of the day as soon as those wheels park at the curb then it's off to spend too much dollar at the markets

Call me loony, but I ACTUALLY like it !!!
I'd probably be completely over it within 30 seconds and rip it all down but it's a total crochet/colour lover's dream room !!
There are a few rugs in there I wouldn't mind having the pattern for just quietly...
And the granny square 'lamp shades' are truly brilliant! Little unsure about how practical and safe it is to place yarn that close to a lightbulb in the 'on' position...so let's just hope this was all for show
In crocheting news, I kept my promise and got the BTTF piece back out ! After re-calculating my rows to see where the next 5% was, I realised the picture I had posted at 25%, was actually 22%....so here it is now at the REAL 25%!

I'm bloody powering along on this Radcliffe piece let me tell you! Something about the Potter pieces get the crocheting juices flowing
Well, it looks as though my BTTF surprise isn't going ahead today so I may as well say what it WAS going to be!
There's an American car show on today and.....sigh...they have a DeLorean on show.....
and due to some annoying sicumstances it looks as though I won't be able to get my arse out there for a photo. Major sad face moment.
Anywho!!
On to something completely different! I've been flipping through some home magazines of late. Why? I've no idea. I'm just finding myself drawn to them for some reason and it looks as though the mighty Union Jack is making a major comeback and is now all sexy again as far as decorating goes.
This is fabulous as I adore anything with the Jack on it, as my fridge magnets, teeshirts, purses, scarves and 2m x 2m wall flag will attest to !
So get your Union Jack love on people

The pretty lady deserves a pretty frame, so I thought i'd have a go at incorporating one into the picture
Hopefully it gives it more OOMPH!!
The plan for this weekend is to study my bum off for this 1 hour exam coming up and getting up to 10%! Can't have him trailing Marilyn! Be interesting to see who gets over the finish line first !
