Screw you cream egg!

I finally managed to get half-way AND i've managed to pick the WORST wool imaginable
Lesson #1 kids, NEVER just go for a ball of wool because it's a pretty colour and even though it SAYS it's the right ply, do a lil stretchy test to make sure it doesn't lose it's form and end up being the thickness of friggin dental floss!
Crappy wool aside, Miss Weasley is shaping up quite nicely Lots of long stretches of colour in the second half, which means she should be done this weekend Which means i'll have to start thinking about bordering them all and then joining them all together! E to the X-citing
Whilst we're still talking Hogwarts, it's a new month in 2 days which means new *free* pattern time Anyone have any preference for which panel you'd like as March's free pattern?! If so leave me a lil comment
Blurgh. Tip #2 kids, don't eat a creme egg for morning tea, when you ate breakfast over 4 hours ago. Hello sugar high.

Werewolf on the prowl

The Werewolf is complete! By GOD there were SO MANY SINGLE COLOURED STITCHES in this piece I thought my fingers would seize up forever
I haven't worked in browns for a while, due to not being able to find the right mix of shades but I think i've finally nailed it
Now onto the final character for the Hogarts bunch blanket!!
I can't believe it's nearly been 12 months since I started it! Trazy!
Hopefully people like who i've gone for to occupy the last panel. It's been such an arduous task deciding who it should be! Many many sleepless nights... naa i'm BS-ing there, but serisouly it was a tough decision. I ALMOST decided to make it a 12 panel job - but seriously, if I'd of done that, it would of made it next to impossible to lift! Breathing would become an issue if you were to take a nap under it

Rainy V-Day

Happy merry belated Valentines Day people
The icon there pretty much sums up my feelings on the day, but yay to anyone else? lol
I spent the day indoors thanks to it raining absolute buckets from the sky Which wasn't as bad as it sounds!
Gave me time to knock this bad boy up to the 55% mark

aaaand gave me a chance to snuggle under the covers, stuff my face with life's 'other oxygen' = , and catch up on some serious dvd watching
I also began sketching out some drafts of brochure/advertising material for my crocheted creations Turns out the handmade market peeps require you to submit HQ photos of your work along with advertising material that you intend to have on display/pass out at the event when considering your application. So far i've kinda got a very rough draft of a logo, but that's about it
In other news, I have a new website crush !

Elsie over @ A Beautiful Mess is just so adorable and her posts are choc-a-block full of inspiration and just so gorge! Be sure to go over and pay her a visit!

Handmade Dreams!

So....i'm excited
I've decided to throw myself head first into getting as many pieces done as possible in order to apply for a stall at my local handmade market ^_^!
Market days for 2010:
Sunday March 28
Saturday June 5
Saturday September 11
Saturday December 4
I think my best bet would be to angle for a spot in December. Chrissy will be in the air, people are more likely to be cashed up and looking for something unique and special, and I probably won't have enough pieces to sell before then anywayz
Gah! Just the idea of decorating my own little stall is making my brain fizz
I think it would be the perfect motivation for me to get myself back into painting again too!

This is one I did of Mr. Danny Jones of McFly, which is still pride of place in my loungeroom after 2 years. Truth be known, I doubt he'll ever make it off the wall. Well except for earlier last month whenit got over 40 degrees and the velcro stickums holding him to the wall melted and he face planted into the carpet ...
But yeah i'd like to get back into painting again and a mix of paintings AND crochet portraits would look awesome as a stall I reckon!
The thing is, what sort of pieces SHOULD I consider making?!?!
I'm thinking I should stick to a theme aka music, therefore concentrating on musicians, instruments etc...
I'm thinking a theme would stop me from doing a load of random pieces with no real direction, leaving my stall lacking in cohesiveness etc...
I would love love LOVE some feedback on this from you guys!!!
Picture me and my own lil stall - what would you guys LOVE to see me selling?!?! What sort of pieces would YOU like to buy?!?!?!
Any suggestions would be more than fantastic!!!!

Side note - Have hit the 30% mark on Mr. Jacob Black -_^!!

Goo Goo Ga Joob

John Lennon (circa. 1964/Hard Day's Night)
Started: 27th January, 2010
Finished: 8th February, 2010
Measures" 70 x 70 cms approx.
I'm so unbelievably THRILLED at how well this piece turned out! Oh stuff it i'm gonna give myself a round of these lol

This piece was made for the 'Knit your fave Beatle' contest over on Ravelry. To be honest, I can't really single out a fave as i'm insanely mundane and have major love for all of them, I chose John, thanks to the 'bridge line' as shown below, but also because I have always loved reading/watching/hearing his way with words...

'Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.' -John Lennon.
'Reality leaves a lot to the imagination.' - John Lennon.
'A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality.' - John Lennon.
'I believe in God, but not as one thing, not as an old man in the sky. I believe that what people call God is something in all of us. I believe that what Jesus and Mohammed and Buddha and all the rest said was right. It's just that the translations have gone wrong.' - John Lennon.
'I don't believe in killing whatever the reason!' - John Lennon.
'I don't know which will go first - rock 'n' roll or Christianity.' - John Lennon.
'If being an egomaniac means I believe in what I do and in my art or music, then in that respect you can call me that... I believe in what I do, and I'll say it.' - John Lennon.
'If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there'd be peace.' - John Lennon.
'Music is everybody's possession. It's only publishers who think that people own it.' - John Lennon.
'My role in society, or any artist's or poet's role, is to try and express what we all feel. Not to tell people how to feel. Not as a preacher, not as a leader, but as a reflection of us all.' - John Lennon.
'Our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. I think we're being run by maniacs for maniacal ends and I think I'm liable to be put away as insane for expressing that. That's what's insane about it.' - John Lennon.
'Reality leaves a lot to the imagination.' - John Lennon.
'Surrealism had a great effect on me because then I realised that the imagery in my mind wasn't insanity. Surrealism to me is reality.' - John Lennon.
'The basic thing nobody asks is why do people take drugs of any sort? Why do we have these accessories to normal living to live? I mean, is there something wrong with society that's making us so pressurized, that we cannot live without guarding ourselves against it?' - John Lennon.
'The more I see the less I know for sure.' - John Lennon.
'There's nothing you can know that isn't known.' - John Lennon.
'You don't need anybody to tell you who you are or what you are. You are what you are!' - John Lennon.
'You have to be a bastard to make it, and that's a fact. And the Beatles are the biggest bastards on earth.' - John Lennon.
'Yeah we all shine on, like the moon, and the stars, and the sun.' - John Lennon.
Rock.In.Peace. John.

"I now declare..."

Over half-way now ma brudders and seesters!

Now we all know that when I hit the eyes, I tend to go balls to the wall and rush my hand into the ground to get it done....well...i'm banking that this will be no exception!
I honestly can't wait to get it done and today I realised why I must have 'subconsciously drifted' towards doing John from 'Hard Days Night'...
It's all because of one line...
Roll the tape Johnny....

(No idea what The Lion King has to do with anything but what the hey, it was an awesome film too!)

She was a daytripper

So this young fellow chomping his finger is the source of inspiration for my next piece
Ok so I haven't gone with a shot of him nawing one of his digits off (although in hindsight may have been more entertaining), I have gone for a shot of him circa. 1964 aka 'cute John' - in my humble opinion -_^!
35% of the way through so far and i'm lovin` what i'm seein`!
I've decided to experiment on this piece and run the blue through the greys Hopefully it'll create a funky effect! (otherwise i'll just say that it's meant to look 'errr artistic?')

Much love,
Lee xox

HELLO WELLO ELLO!! Welcome to revamp number 543165547 of Totallee.net! What can I say, I get really bored, really easily
So the whole reason for the revamp was to improve navigation and make it a hell of a lot easier for people to scan their peepers over my crochet pursuits, so feedback would be smiled upon greatly!!!
I'm aware that it may be a little bit IN YOUR FACE for some people, as it looks as though a clown's thrown up on the page with so much colour splashed everywhere, so lil tip, if it isn't your cuppa tea, try viewing with sunnies on
Time to slip into tour guide mode...
To your right you'll find a mood board - basically to reflect what my interests are at the moment. I pinched the idea off a designer whilst watching 'Project Runway Australia'
As one does
Below is a link to the Hogwarts Bunch Blankie - which is so close to completion it's scary. It's going to be a little bittersweet once the final panel is done *sigh*. Below that is Free pattern for February, Mr. Ronald Weasley! I've gotten a number of requests to post my patterns for this project, so I thought i'd trial popping one up once a month and see how we go
On the left you'll see links to the gallery, which is still under conctruction, but will be completed over the coming days, and a little shout-out for anyone interested in commissioning a piece of fiber art
So feel free to have a poke around and lemme know your thoughts via the tagboard! Since Haloscan have decided to shut down and leave me without a commenting system *le sigh*. Bye for now amigos!!
Much love,
Lee xox
