2010!
October!!

Re-VAMPing
Friday, 29th October, 2010 @ 11:04am

HELLO!!!!
Man it's been 7 days! Not cool Lee, not cool!
I've been Bizay Bizay Bizay !!!
This place is in the process of getting a bit of re-vavmp, so you should start to see a few changes over the coming week
Including - A section dedicated to the Hogwarts Bunch Blanket, which WILL include that pain-in-the-arse-to-bring-together video of the completion, patterns, your versions of the patterns, etc...
Speaking of which, we have another Ronald Weasley that has been sent in!!! AGGH!!!

Tess, you're a freaking star!! !!
He looks FANTASTIC girl!!

I've also been working on a page dedicated to the GINORMOUS Back To The Future piece that I will be starting in 2 DAYS!!
Also have other bits and pieces in the works, so be sure to check back soon
In crocheting news, I haven't had too much time lately, but Charlie is at 60%!

Elvis and Ann are at 40%!

..and I have just started a piece that will be for ale at the exhibition next year!!

Totally sexy so far huh??
Pfft!
It'll be my first piece in shades of green and I can't wait to get stuck into it

AAGGHH!
Friday, 22nd October, 2010 @ 10:34pm

If you are free around May 2011....feel free to check out....
MY FIRST EVER EXHIBITION!!!!!!!!!!!

Today it was confirmed that my local cafe will be popping some of my pieces up on their walls in a mini exhibition!!!!
FRIGGIN AWESOME OR WHAT!!!!
John, the bloke who sent me the e-mail last week, came in to see me today and said that there are bucketloads of people ahead of me, but if I wouldn't mind waiting, he would love to get my stuff up on the walls, hopefully by May next year!!!
Although he said it could be sooner, as anything he pops up tends to be sold within days. Eg. he told me that he only just popped 3 paintings up by a local artist the other day and already all 3 have sold for $2000 each!
I said May would be perfect as it would give me time to knock up some pieces that I could sell (I can't part with any that i've done so far!), so I now have a deadline!! 7 months to come up with some AWESOME pieces to sell!!
And what does this lady do to celebrate such crazy news?!
She goes SHOPPING!

As you know by now, I am obsessed with 'Mad Men', so therefore summer 2010/11 will consist of 50s/60s style dresses!

It's all thanks to falling head over elbows in love with Joany's fabulous hourglass!!

The face had to be blocked out to prevent me issuing a health warning. You would of had some serious pukage going on if you had to see it! Don't say I don't do you any favours!!
Agh!! So Stoked!! So not going to catch any zzz's tonight!!!!!!!!

Chill Pill Time
Tuesday, 19th October, 2010 @ 12:38pm

Countdown to my final exam is on!
Seriously need to take a fistfull of these and learn to regulate my breathing a little bit before 9am tomorrow
I've been given 30 hours to complete 10 short answer questions, answers to be 300 words, on 12 different topics within the field of Health Psychology... .....
Fun times!
I think i'll be okay, i've almost gone blind with all the reading i've been doing this past week, so hopefully some of it has managed to stick !!
and I know we'll prolly all be 103 by the time I get around to posting these bloody Hogwarts Bunch photos, but the page I have devoted to it is almost finished, so after my 30 hours of hell, i'll work on getting it up asap! Promise !!
Looks as though the video is back on track too so yay!!
Alright time for me to go to work and tell them I won't be there over the next 2 days...
I'm sure that'll go down a treat!!
Ou, side note, Elvis and Ann are at 35% almost 40!

Back In Time
Sunday, 17th October, 2010 @ 9:41am

I MAY have gone slightly overboard at Spotlight yesterday?!?!.....
I really should be banned from setting foot inside....
Wallet = so so empty
But with only 2 weeks left to go till Back To The Future Month here on Totallee.net I thought i'd best get a move on and start looking for some wool! I kinda found it! A bloody ton of it!! That's a bloody big table and it covers half!! And that's not even counting the Black and White balls yet!!
Frig man, how the hell am I going to carry all that lot around....
Anywayz, it was all 50% off! So bit of a bonus there! Heading into summer is definitely the time to stock up
I don't want to give to much away, but i'm hoping the colour scheme I went for is really gonna make this thing POP ! It will be my BIGGEST piece to date and as long as my wool doesn't run out (bloody better not! Half a tables worth!) it should end up being TWICE THE SIZE of this baby!!!

..and yes, I know i'm insane , but when it comes to BTTF all thoughts of developing RSI and getting crushed from the weight of this thing whilst working on it fly out the window
Especially as it's the 25th Anniversary!

Ou! P.S.! Ann and Elvis are @ 30%!

Ou! P.P.S! I'm awaiting the arrival of a mate to help me take the HBB photos as the thing is FREAKING MASSIVE and I need help on being stable at high altitudes to take a decent shot !!
Ou! P.P.P.S! Bucketloads of "Thank you!!"'s and Love to you guys for your congratulations re. the exhibiting prospects!! Shall keep you posted!!!
Ou! P.P.P.P.S! ....Err I forget...

Lets Run!
Friday, 15th October, 2010 @ 10:10am

Mr. Charlie Simpson hit the halfway point last night

I'm a little bit stoked at the way the shading on his tee is turning out I was worried that with so much black circling around, it may not look like his chest, but luckily that sleeve emerging on the left gives enough shape to make it work PHEW
Of course now i'm coming to the really exciting bit! Almost at his face for the second time
I know a lot more peeps are prolly interested in seeing Elvis and Ann, but i've had a bit of a Fightstar week as far as the old Ipod goes, so felt the need to work on Mr. Simpson a little bit
Plus I found this on Youtube and have proceeded to watch it....quite alot...

Dear god....I need a cold shower.
ANYWAYZ!!!
Guess who came into work this week?!?!
Remeber aaaaages ago I mentioned that a customer of mine was an artist?!?! A world famous artist who said she would get in contact with someone at a local gallery about my work?!?!
She came in!! Turns out she has been crazy busy jet setting around the world and said she had not forgotten!! She said that when she gets back from her next trip, which should be mid-November, we are to have coffee together and talk about opportunites!!!!!
AGGHH!!
I preceeded to jump around like a spaz and thank her very much and told her to name the time and place and i'll be there camped out three days beforehand - and get this...
She told me not to worry too much as she is a FOUNDING MEMBER of the gallery and therefore I have a 100% chance of a showing!!!!
There was a 99.9% chance of fainting at this point!!!!!
But hold on to your hats because there's more people!!!
After showing off my pieces to customers and friends at work, it was suggested that I get in contact withthe bloke who looks after exhibiting local artist's work at the local cafe
So I sent him an e-mail with some pictures of my work attached and yesterday found this sitting in my inbox...
"Dear Lee Your work looks terrific. We would love to have you exhibit. I will write again soon with details of how that is done and when."

So clearly a man of few words but AGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
So now i'm beyond motivated to start focussing on cranking out loads of new pieces asap!!!
Once I get this final exam for the year out of the way next week, it's ON LIKE DONKEY KONG MAN!!!

Bloody School!
Monday, 11th October, 2010 @ 10:22am

So instead of working on the all important HBBlanket Vlog, I had to work on a surprise report for Health Psychology!
So just wanted to drop in and say "Yes" the blanket is FINISHED!!! but the video is not. I have had to spend the weekend writing about placebo effects, alcoholics and obese children. Jealous aren't you?
So today will consist of doing nothing, as my brain is sick to death of focusing on the screen, and I will get cracking on the big revealing video tomorrow! Will certainly be finished this week!!! If Uni throw anything else at me, they can get stuffed!! HP related blankets are more important!! They sure as hell needed a jazzyier blanket for them on set! I'll tell you that much for free!!

Happy Birthday John Lennon!
Saturday, 9th October, 2010 @ 10:48am

Happy 70th Birthday Mr. John Lennon
I fell in love with his music and his fantastical brain around the age of 9 and have only grown to love the legacy he has left more and more each day. Although he died before I was even thought of, i'm just thankful that I have the opportunity to reflect on all that is John today
And although this sounds like a bunch of sentimental crap (which quite frankly it is... )
I just wanted to put forward my two cents on how important the man and his music are in my life and will continue to be forever

"A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality."

"I believe in God, but not as one thing, not as an old man in the sky. I believe that what people call God is something in all of us. I believe that what Jesus and Mohammed and Buddha and all the rest said was right. It's just that the translations have gone wrong."

"I'm not going to change the way I look or the way I feel to conform to anything. I've always been a freak. So I've been a freak all my life and I have to live with that, you know. I'm one of those people."

"If being an egomaniac means I believe in what I do and in my art or music, then in that respect you can call me that... I believe in what I do, and I'll say it."

"If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there'd be peace."

"If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliche that must have been left behind in the Sixties, that's his problem. Love and peace are eternal."

"If you tried to give rock and roll another name, you might call it 'Chuck Berry'."

"Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans."
"My role in society, or any artist's or poet's role, is to try and express what we all feel. Not to tell people how to feel. Not as a preacher, not as a leader, but as a reflection of us all."

R.I.P John <3

How I backed it, how I sewed it, how terrible I look whilst working on it !! So hopefully folks can get an idea of how to pop backing onto crochet! (well how I went about it anyway!)
Man I honestly feel like skipping!!
Major love vibes going out to Benny and Kayla!!!!

SNES Jackpot!
Tuesday, 5th October, 2010 @ 10:48am

Let me start by saying that I am a SNES tragic.
I got my Super Nintendo for Christmas '95 and I swear to god you would not have found a happier ten year old that Chrissy. Actually I think the only Christmas that has topped it since was last year's mini Jukebox, when I think I actually screamed louder that ten year old me. Actually, that's a total friggin lie, the best Christmas was '98 when I got my first cd player, now that was a friggin important rite of passage!!
Jeezuz, enough about too-ing and fro-ing about past christmas', the point is, the SNES is where it starts and stops for me as far as gaming goes. How the hell can you top the beauty, simplisity and hilarious smiley 2D graphics man?!
Answer: you just can't!
Anywayz, the other day I hit the JACKPOT. The megaload. The ultra-dizzying heights if you will....
I FINALLY FRIGGIN FOUND THE LAST CARTRIDGE I HAVE BEEN AFTER FOR THE PAST...Jeezuz, 15 years!

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island!!!!

..Bloody hell i'm still struggling with it being 15years...christ i'm getting old....
ANYWAYS!!
With the games getting harder and harder to find, I almost needed CPR when I saw this in 'Cash 'em In' the other day. The poor bloke behind the counter said I was looking a bit flushed !
So now my prized collection is complete!

Donkey Kong 1, 2, 3
Mario Kart
Super Mario Brothers All Stars and now
Yoshi's Island!!!!

Wanna hear the funny part...I still haven't been able to finish any of them....
Talk about a hell of an investment!!!

She's Alive!
Saturday, 2nd October, 2010 @ 8:16am

I am not dead!! Just totally drained from the crappy stresses associated with this time of year aka University crunch time + Hayfever
The reading alone for this semester has pushed me over the edge... at least 50 pages a week
These professor's should know that the human brain can't take in that much info in 7 days....well mine friggin can't. It gets spazzed out after 20mins, throws a hissy fit and orders a cold to start enveloping my head
Man I am a sight for sore eyes! Speaking of which mine have been drving me nuts...itchy, swollen, watery...ugh...
ANYWAY
Mr. Smiley aka the last Potter panel pattern is up for the month of October!!

So awesome to read that there are quite a few of you giving the panels a go I can't wait to see them!! Be sure to send your snapshots through as you finish and i'll create a section to showcase them
Thanks to having next to no life force this week, Elvis & Ann have only creeped up to the 15% mark (am actually 2 rows off 20%, but can't be arsed finding the camera)

Now time to go veg out infront of the telly for a little while with my hook, my Hogwarts Bunch blanket and a cuppa
Yes, I am actually 87 years old.
